Queens Day 2008

Queen's Day is on April 30th, but the main party night is Queen's Night on April 29th. That way people can party hard, then wake up the next day and party some more. We spent Queen's Night on a big, all-you-can-drink alcohol filled boat. Since I'm a year behind in writing these, four days ago we celebrated Queen's Night 2009 in exactly the same manner.

On Queen's Day I walked from my place in the Westerpark to the city center, checking out the crazy money making schemes people set up all over the city. This was some sort of shower stall converted into mini tornado with floating balls, and you had to catch the right one. Weird entertainment.

In the city center we ended up on a friends roof.

Towards the end of the day, it was clear that a few individuals had partied a bit too hard. Random dude here did just that.

Outdoor parting in Weteringschans round-about.

My friend Shane, with peanuts for nipples...

Another money making scheme was some sort of egg toss thing, but I didn't see the main event, only the aftermath. One of the highlights of the day was stepping on the uncracked eggs; I had a blast literally walking on egg shells.
